Returns, Warranties & Refunds

General Policy

  • Lumina Parts supplies both new and used automotive parts.
  • By purchasing products from Lumina Parts, customers acknowledge and agree to the terms set out in this Returns and Warranty Policy.
  • Proof of purchase is required for all return, exchange, and warranty requests.
  • All claims must be submitted in writing and accompanied by the original invoice or order number.

New Parts

Exchange for Manufacturing Defects

New parts may be exchanged within 7 days of delivery or collection if a manufacturing defect is identified.

To qualify for an exchange:

  • The defect must be reported within 7 days of receipt.
  • The part must not have been modified, altered, or abused.
  • The part must be returned complete with all original packaging, labels, and accessories where applicable.
  • The defect must be confirmed by Lumina Parts or the manufacturer/supplier.

Lumina Parts reserves the right to inspect, test, or submit the product to the supplier for evaluation before approving an exchange.

No exchange will be approved where damage has resulted from:

  • Incorrect installation;
  • Improper use;
  • Vehicle electrical faults;
  • Accidents or external damage;
  • Normal wear and tear;
  • Negligence or misuse.

New Parts Warranty

Unless otherwise stated, new parts carry a limited warranty period of 3 months from the date of delivery or collection.

The warranty covers manufacturing defects only.

The warranty does not cover:

  • Labour charges;
  • Installation costs;
  • Diagnostic costs;
  • Towing costs;
  • Vehicle downtime;
  • Consequential losses;
  • Normal wear and tear;
  • Incorrect fitment;
  • Damage caused by improper installation or use.
  • Delivery cost.

Warranty claims may require inspection and testing by the supplier or manufacturer before approval.

  • Repair, replacement, exchange, or credit remains at the sole discretion of Lumina Parts and/or the supplier.

Used Parts

No Warranty

  • All used parts are sold voetstoots ("as is").
  • Used parts carry no warranty of any kind, whether express or implied.

No Returns, Exchanges, or Refunds

All sales of used parts are final.

Used parts are not eligible for:

  • Refunds;
  • Returns;
  • Exchanges;
  • Credits;
  • Warranty claims.

Customers are responsible for verifying suitability, condition, and compatibility before purchase.

By purchasing a used part, the customer accepts the condition of the part and acknowledges that no warranty, exchange, or refund will be available after purchase.

Incorrect Parts Ordered

Customers are responsible for ensuring that the correct part is ordered.

Lumina Parts shall not be responsible for incorrect parts ordered as a result of:

  • Incorrect vehicle information supplied by the customer;
  • Incorrect part numbers supplied by the customer;
  • Failure to verify compatibility before purchase.

Products ordered incorrectly may not qualify for return, exchange, or refund.

Inspection Before Installation

Customers must inspect all products before installation.

Products that have been:

  • Installed;
  • Modified;
  • Painted;
  • Programmed;
  • Damaged during installation;

may not be eligible for exchange, return, or warranty consideration.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lumina Parts shall not be liable for:

  • Labour costs;
  • Installation costs;
  • Vehicle downtime;
  • Towing expenses;
  • Loss of income;
  • Consequential or indirect damages;
  • arising from the use, failure, replacement, exchange, or warranty claim of any product.

Consumer Rights

  • Nothing in this policy shall limit any rights that may apply under applicable South African consumer protection legislation.
  • Where legislation provides rights that cannot legally be excluded, those rights shall prevail to the extent required by law.
